Unwanted odors can be disruptive. NORIT® activated carbon systems are used to remove smells from sewage gas in wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, and other exhaust locations.

NORIT Activated Carbon is used to remove:

  • Hydrogen sulfide, by oxidizing it to sulfur, which is stored in the pores of the activated carbon
  • Organic sulfur components, like mercaptans and disulfides
  • Traces of other offensive organic (hydro)carbons
  • Ammonia

Optimal filter design with required contact times, removal efficiencies, and pressure drop can be advised by our technical support engineers. Adsorption isotherms and experience from the field determine the service life.
